We loooove animals, hey, we even have a Pinterest board dedicated to them. Jen encourages a kennel like atmosphere allowing staff to bring their furry best friends to the office on a regular basis. So today when we came across this heart melting article on Styleite.com about famous designers and their equally chic pups we had to share!

Some say the smog contributes to why Los Angeles sunsets are so beautiful, we say whatever it may be, you can't beat a Summer skyline in Southern California. With the first day of Summer around the corner we came across this great read from Refinery29 - "29 Signs you know it's Summer in Los Angeles" and had to share with our readers. Especially the Angelenos who know exactly what this article is talking about.

First official day is Summer is Wednesday, June 20th.

While most of us have shopped the Rose Bowl Flea Market in the heat, caught a late night movie at the cemetery and grubbed on dogs and nachos at a Dodgers game, there's always room for new adventures and R29 gives us some great ideas to help pass the time of those long Summer days! Back in April we posted a recipe link for breakfast tacos and since then we decided on a Nation LTD breakfast taco morning. We had a potluck and every staff member (thanks guys) joined in. We covered all the essentials, don't you think?!? The tacos turned out AMAZING!

happy national chocolate chip cookie day!

The birth of the chocolate chip cookie story goes like this... Ruth Wakefield was preparing her traditional butter cookies at the Toll House Inn in Whitman, Mass., when she decided on a whim to add pieces of a chocolate bar to her dough. Wakefield expected the chocolate to melt into the dough but instead it held its shape. The cookie was an instant hit and the recipe was printed in a local Boston newspaper. Over 100 years later, the chocolate chip cookie is as famous as ever! See below for the traditional Nestle house recipe. Happy baking!

The Original Nestle’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Makes 20 to 40 cookies, depending on amount of dough used for each

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 (12 oz.) package NESTLE® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
1 cup chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl.
Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in large mixer bowl.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition; gradually beat in flour mixture.
Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
